A creeper plant for shade

I was looking for a creeper plant to grow on a trellis frame beside my house and selected a passion fruit plant for that. The idea here is to create a pergola between my house and the compound wall and grow the plant there so as to create shade. That's the main Goal. It will look somewhat like this. http://bit.ly/2YyQy9m now I'm thinking whether there's a better alternative. The plant will get full sun for atleast 6 hours. (I live in Trivandrum, Tropical, 32°C (89°F). High humidity) Is there any other plant, that's spreads out like a green roof over a trellis frame. Chose passion fruit because it grows fast.
